| Notice of Application for Open Cut Mining Permit: Madison County is in the application process of opening a 32.6 acre open cut gravel pit at a site on the Lasich Ranch, 6.5 miles south of Twin Bridges, Montana, on Highway 41 (T.4.S., R.7.W., Sec 24 - see attached map). This open cut mine site will be operated by Madison County to generate the road construction and surfacing material needed to maintain and improve county roads in the area. Eventually we will be stripping and stockpiling approximately 32,000 cy of topsoil and overburden for use in on-site reclamation and anticipate removing 1,000,000 cy of gravel, sand and clay material for use on public roads. | NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS: The Madison County Tax Appeal Board will be in session from July 1 through December 31, 2012, for the business of hearing appeals. Any taxpayer who disagrees with the appraised value of his or her property may file an appeal with the Madison County Tax Appeal Board on or before the first Monday in June or within 30 days of receipt of a Notice of Classification and Appraisal, or Notice to Change Valuation (assessment notice), whichever is later. It is possible that not all taxpayers will receive an assessment notice. If you have not received a notice of classification and appraisal, consider the first Monday in June as the deadline to file an appeal.
